Due to the widespread media reports of Coronavirus (Covid-19), and the World Health Organization (WHO) announcement declaring Covid-19 a pandemic, Covid-19 is a foreseen or known event. If you are purchasing a new policy, certain covers will not apply.
Laya Travel insurance provides cover for the following Covid-19 related events:

b) for medical expenses (Section B of the policy document) and cutting your trip short (Section C of the policy document) coverage if an Insured Person has a confirmed and documented diagnosis of COVID-19* whilst on a covered trip to a country that the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has allocated a security status of Normal Precautions or High Degree of Caution to.
Please note that travel to a country that the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has allocated a security status of Avoid Non-Essential Travel or Do Not Travel to is excluded by our policy.
All other Covid-19 related claims are excluded. We encourage our Laya travel members to please refer to their policy wording for full details or get in touch with us on 01 2611508 with any further queries. All claims submitted will be assessed in line with the terms, conditions and exclusions clearly detailed in a member’s policy that is issued to them when they take out travel cover with us.
