Our Medicare Travel Insurance policy offers a premium discount if you have a private medical insurance policy (i.e. Laya Healthcare, VHI or Irish Life Health) in force which provides cover for overseas medical treatment. Please note that all persons covered on your travel insurance must also be covered under your private medical insurance, which must remain in force for the duration of the insured journey.

You can still buy our travel insurance but it is important to note that you may not be covered for some existing illnesses or medical conditions. Please ensure you read the Policy Exclusions carefully to ensure that this insurance is suitable for your needs.
Please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org if you feel this Insurance is not suitable for your needs and you require a refund. This email should reach us no later than 14 days after you have purchased your insurance. We will only give you a refund if you have not travelled or there have been no incidents which may give rise to a claim under your travel insurance.
To protect your own interests you should purchase Travel Insurance cover at the same time you purchase your travel package. You can buy it at a later date but it will not cover events which have already occurred.

You can insure your partner if they are aged over 18 and you have been cohabiting as a couple in the same dwelling for 6 months. If your partner is aged 76 or over, special rates and conditions may apply and you are advised to contact us directly on 01 261 1508 for more information.
Under our Single Trip and Annual Multi Trip Insurance there is a special "Family Rate" which covers two parents and all of their dependant children who are under 18 years of age at the time of purchase and named on the schedule.
Children receive the same benefits as adults, apart from the Permanent Total Disablement benefit, which does not apply. The death benefit is €7,000 for children under 16 years.
No, but it is a requirement of this insurance that they meet up with parents, guardian or relatives on reaching their non-stop destination.
The Annual policy covers you for individual trips of up to 45 consecutive days. If you select our winter sports option, you will be covered for up to a maximum of 17 days winter sports participation in any period of insurance.

No, but 4 weeks before it expires we will alert you that your cover will soon cease and we will issue you with an invitation to purchase another policy.

Yes, our Annual Multi Trip travel insurance covers you for trips within Ireland provided you book more than one night's accommodation away from your usual place of residence. There are restrictions to the cover provided for trips taken within the Republic of Ireland, please read your Policy Document for more information.
Yes, but cover will cease as soon as you arrive at your country of destination.
In the event of a medical emergency, you must contact AIG Assistance Services within 48 hours. They must authorise payment of all in-patient hospital, clinic or nursing home expenses, emergency repatriation or curtailment expenses. Unauthorised claims may not be paid, so please contact them as soon as possible on 00 44 1273 456 683. Please refer to our emergency assistance information and to your Policy Document for further details.

Most sections of your insurance have an excess where you have to contribute a certain amount per claim. The excess is applied to each Insured Person and varies from section to section. Please read your Policy Document for the exact amount.
The single article limit is the maximum amount we will pay for any one item, pair or set of items. The single article limit is €250 if you have purchased Single or Annual Multi Trip Insurance, €500 if you have purchased Business Insurance or €100 if you have purchased Backpacker Insurance. Please refer to the definition of 'pair or set of items' on page 7 of your Policy Document for more information.
Yes, this policy will cover you for Scuba Diving but there are provisions and limitations. Please ensure you read the Sports and Activities section of your Travel Insurance Policy Document carefully.

If you require ski cover you need to extend your Travel Insurance policy to include it by ticking the appropriate box and paying the additional premium.
For Single Trip policies you can buy cover for trips lasting up to a maximum of 17 days.
For Annual Multi Trip policies you can buy cover for up to a maximum of 17 days in total within the period of insurance.
The maximum duration of any one trip under our Single Trip Insurance Policy is 30 days . Longer trips abroad can be covered under our Backpacker policy (up to a maximum of 1 years duration).

If you are pregnant prior to the date of purchasing this policy then cancellation of your trip is not covered due to pregnancy. You can therefore make a claim if you become pregnant after the date you arranged this insurance cover and your doctor advises that you are not fit to travel due to complications in your pregnancy.
You are covered for medical expenses connected to pregnancy provided that you are not 26 weeks pregnant at the beginning of or during your trip.
Yes, your Travel Insurance does not cover any claim, loss, injury, damage or legal liability arising directly or indirectly from any planned or actual trip in, to or through Cuba, Iran, Sudan, Syria, Crimea region of Ukraine or North Korea.
